Services: Inspect
Understanding the exact condition of your system is not a guessing game, inspection is the crucial first step to well-maintained pipes. That’s where we come in. With our high-resolution video we help you locate problems before they become emergencies. Our inspection services include:
I/I Investigations
- Dye Water Flooding – Dye water flooding often reveals sources of infiltration and hidden cross connections between sanitary and storm sewers. When dyed water flooded into the storm sewer appears in the sanitary, the source is unmistakable. Once the source of the infiltration is known, the most cost-effective correction method can be determined. The results of a typical dyewater flooding project can be as dramatic as indicated in this video (click here).
- Manhole Inspections – The inspection of manholes should be part of every inspection project. They can be as simple or detailed as desired but the results often provide unique insight into the overall performance of your collection system. Visu-Sewer recently acquired a manhole pole camera to augment these types of inspections. This camera provides a detailed picture of the condition of the manhole along with a “look” up each pipe connection.
- Smoke Testing – Inflow is a leading cause of collection system overflows and there is no faster or easier way to find the sources than with smoke testing. This simple, inexpensive operation quickly gives you the information you need so you can apply your resources where they will do the most good.
Video Inspection
- Sump Pump Inspections – Sump pumps are designed to eliminate wet basements; however, the elicit discharge of these pumps is actually contributing to a large portion of the basement backups encountered throughout our country. The problem occurs when these systems are connected to the sanitary sewer systems which are not designed to carry this clear water. Therefore, during times of high groundwater, the sewer systems become overloaded and basement backups occur. Visu-Sewer provides complete sump pump inspection programs including ordinance assistance and trained personnel, working as agents of the municipality to inspect individual homes for compliance.
- TV Inspection – Our late-model, well-maintained camera equipment, coupled with our PACP-certified TV Inspection personnel, provide the best pipe inspection services in the country. We use the latest equipment including color/pan and tilt/zoom/crawler cameras as well as tractor transporters. High-resolution video with on-screen graphics as well as written (and audible) notes allow you to locate problems before they become emergencies, giving you the opportunity to select the most appropriate rehabilitation technology for your pipelines.
- Lateral Evaluation Televising Systems (LETS) – This unique camera allows for the inspection of the sanitary sewer lateral from the mainline pipe. It has the ability to inspect up to 80 feet of 4”-6” pipe from mainline sewers (8”-18”). It is an excellent option to inspect for lateral I&I and also can be used to provide an assessment of lateral pipe conditions prior to paving. View this video for an example of our LETS camera in action (click here).
- Man Entry, Mini-Cams, Manhole Pole Cams – These are just a sampling of the additional inspection tools Visu-Sewer can provide. We also have relationships with alternative inspection technologies such as: Laser profiling, sonar, and deep-tunnel investigations.
- Digital Recording Media – Recent developments in technology now allow us to capture video and audio in a digital format. Each of our TV inspection units are outfitted with computers and are capable of capturing video in 4 different formats (DVD, MPEG1, MPEG2 & MPEG4). The video and data can be delivered via VHS, DVD or portable hard drive. In order to keep up with the demands of changing technologies in our industry, Visu-Sewer has a full time IT Manager on staff, which allows us to provide real-time, immediate support to both field and office personnel.
